Getting Started
Supported meeting apps
Use Observer with browser meetings and desktop meeting apps.
Observer does not join your call as a bot. It listens to system audio on your Mac and reads your screen when you trigger a screen-based action.
Browser meetings
Works in Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Arc, and other Chromium browsers.
Includes Google Meet, Teams in the browser, Zoom in the browser, and most web-based meeting tools.
Desktop meeting apps
- Zoom desktop app (requires one extra screen-sharing setting — see Zoom setup guide)
- Microsoft Teams desktop app
- Slack huddles and calls
- Webex, Discord, Around, Riverside, and similar apps
What Observer does not need
- Calendar access
- A bot invited to the meeting
- Plugins inside the meeting app
Audio and screen tips
Use your Mac's normal audio output during the call. If you use headphones, Observer still captures system audio the same way.
For screen actions, keep the relevant window visible when you press Assist or send a Screen + text message.
