Use cases

Help in the call. Notes that match the job.

Observer works on any supported call. A Playbook is how you change the buttons and the notes for that conversation — from a template or one you write.

In general

Any live call

Join Zoom, Meet, Teams, or Slack. Start a meeting in Observer. Reply, Recap, or ask a question while people are still talking. No bot joins the call.

Notes when it ends

End the session. Observer writes notes from the active Playbook’s headings, saves the transcript, and keeps the chat. Edit, rewrite, or send to Notion.

Your meeting type

Sales, interviews, recruiting, standups, lectures — or something that is not in the list. Templates cover the common ones. A custom Playbook covers yours.

Templates

Each template ships a prompt, Quick Actions, and note headings for that meeting type. Open one to see the difference.

When you are the candidate

Interview

Answer questions with resume and job-description context.

Observer looks for the latest interviewer question, a speakable answer, and a stronger question you can ask back.

Quick Actions

These belong to this Playbook. Replace any of them with a catalog template or a custom action.

Notes after the call

Headings from this Playbook. That is why a sales recap and a standup are not the same document.

  • Interview Context
  • Questions Asked
  • Answers and Examples Given
  • Strengths and Weak Spots
  • Follow-Up Prep

Custom Playbooks

If the meeting is not Interview, Sales, or a standup — a customer onboarding, a board update, a support escalation — create a Playbook for that workflow.

  1. 1. Open Playbooks and click New.
  2. 2. Write the prompt: your role, the goal, and how Observer should answer.
  3. 3. Attach a PDF if the call depends on one — a brief, a contract, a runbook.
  4. 4. Add Quick Actions from the catalog, or write your own (name, prompt, and whether it reads the transcript, the screen, or the web).
  5. 5. Set the note headings so the document after the call matches this meeting — not a generic recap.
  6. 6. Set it active. Switch from the session menu if the next call is different.

Setup detail is in the Playbooks and Quick Actions guides.
