Undetectability Mode keeps Observer hidden during screen sharing and helps it stay out of the way while you work in browser-based meetings.

How to enable it
- Open Observer and go to General in the dashboard to turn Undetectability Mode on or off before a meeting.
- After a meeting starts, click the hat icon in the main Observer window to toggle it quickly.
Focus and menu bar behavior
With Undetectability Mode on, Observer is designed not to steal focus from your browser. Your browser name, such as Chrome or Firefox, should stay visible in the macOS menu bar as the active app. Observer's name should not appear there when you use it.

Supported apps
Undetectability Mode works best with browser-based meetings and most desktop meeting apps, including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Webex, and Discord.
Zoom desktop app
Zoom is not undetectable by default. You need one extra Zoom screen-sharing setting before Observer can use screen context reliably. See the Zoom screen sharing setup guide for the exact steps.
Limitations
Observer cannot guarantee complete undetectability in every environment.
- Browser-based proctoring systems may not detect Observer in many cases.
- Desktop proctoring apps that monitor running applications may still detect Observer.
- Always review the rules of your meeting or exam environment before using any assistant.
